How well does your team know Ballarat?
Could they recommend a place to go for delicious Thai, family-friendly accommodation or a nice place to relax and enjoy the sunshine?
During their stay, visitors will look for insights from locals which means it’s crucial your staff know what to say when someone asks for a recommendation.
To help you, we’re launching Industry Excursions. Designed for front-of-house (FOH) workers, the new program aims to upskill your staff to ensure they have the knowledge and confidence to answer visitor questions and provide recommendations.
The first tour kicks off at 10am Tuesday 4 February with a behind-the-scenes look at the Ballarat Visitor Information Centre and the newly redeveloped Her Majesty’s Theatre.
How does this program benefit my business?
Visitor servicing doesn’t always occur in a Visitor Information Centre. Quite often a visitor will rely on the knowledge of locals to inform their stay.
Providing quality information in your business can improve a customer’s experience while in-region and increase the chances of them recommending you to their friends and family.
Who is this program is designed?
Front-of-house staff and those who interact with visitors regularly.
How does it work?
Each study tour requires attendees to meet at a new location each month, where they will hear from operators about the experiences on offer. Tours will run from 1-3 hours, with workers able to sign up to multiple tours across the year.
Would you like your business to feature in the 2025 program? Reach out to the team at hello@visitballarat.com.au to find out how.
While the program commences with Ballarat itineraries, we’ll soon expand these tours into the broader TMV region.
