
For Sovereign Park Motor Inn, the key to growth wasn’t new facilities — it was smarter systems.
In 2024, the family-owned, 53-room motel partnered with RevenYou through Tourism Midwest Victoria’s Accommodation Business Support Program. A long-standing family favourite with strong guest reviews and a steady leisure market base, the motel was performing well. However, the owners saw room to grow by reaching more of the corporate travel market.
Like many accommodation operators, one of their biggest challenges was finding the time to work on the business while constantly working in it. That’s where the RevenYou program delivered real value, providing dedicated one-on-one time with industry experts to uncover opportunities, implement changes and build confidence in decision-making.
During the initial one-hour discovery call, the team identified the Global Distribution System (GDS) as a priority area. While Sovereign Park Motor Inn was visible in leisure markets, their corporate market penetration was low when compared to their competitor set. Focusing on GDS optimisation became the foundation for their growth strategy.
Actions taken
Working closely with the RevenYou team, the motel was able to:
- Audit their Global Distribution System (GDS), discovering their existing consortia programs were targeting European agents rather than just the Australian corporate market.
- Source and join new Australian-based consortia programs, including one that was generating over $500k annually for their local competitors.
- Update their Lanyon listing with new photos and current facilities to attract tenders from corporate clients.
- Review their Property Management System (PMS) and Channel Manager, which ultimately saw them move to a new Channel Manager and implement a dynamic pricing model.
- Map corporate GDS production and train staff to maintain the new systems confidently.
