Help us create a more welcoming destination for all

At Tourism Midwest Victoria, we see accessible tourism as a huge opportunity for our region. Almost 1 in 5 Australians live with disability, yet only a third are currently travelling*. That’s a big gap, and a big chance to welcome more visitors. Research also shows that visitors with accessibility needs often stay longer and spend more**, which benefits both our community and local businesses.

We’re already seeing positive steps, from accessible gold panning at Sovereign Hill, Hotel Vera’s luxury accessible Tourello suite, to Creswick’s Djuwang Baring All Abilities Mountain Bike Trails. We know there are many more great experiences to celebrate, and plenty of potential to improve or create new ones that everyone can enjoy.

That’s where we’d love your input. We want to hear from community members with lived experience of disability, as well as those who work with, support, or care for someone with a disability. Your insights will help us understand the barriers people face, and highlight the places and experiences that already make you feel welcome.

Your feedback will guide us in supporting tourism and hospitality businesses to be more inclusive, and in celebrating the experiences that matter most to you.

Together, we can create a region that’s more accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable for locals and visitors alike.
